SUVS Drive Subaru Sales

Thu, 05/11/2015

Subaru sales of 4112 vehicles in October have placed the brand 8.5 per cent ahead of its year-to-date (YTD) total the previous year.
Among the stand-out Subaru success of 2015 is new generation Outback, with 1007 October sales, up 406.0 per cent for the month and 334.0 per cent YTD.
Also performing strongly is Forester, with 1247 sales.
Nick Senior, Subaru Australia Managing Director, said: “The gap between passenger car sales and SUV sales in October was just 6112 – this time last year it was 14,282.
“It’s now inevitable SUVs will overtake passenger cars – most likely as soon as mid next year.
“Subaru, with its XV, Forester and Outback SUVs, is perfectly positioned to take advantage of this.
“Our strong 4.4 per cent market share is very pleasing in a competitive market.
“Our national share is underlined by excellent performances in Tasmania (7.4 per cent), ACT (6.1 per cent) and South Australia (5.7 per cent).
“This result was on the back of good Forester and Outback sales and the continued success of the Liberty in the medium car market.”
Liberty sold 372 in October, up 463.6 per cent for the month and 304.5 per cent YTD.
Also maintaining its amazing form was WRX, with 359 sales.
