SUBARU OF AMERICA SALES UP 20 PER CENT YTD

Subaru of America, Inc. reported August sales of 22,239 vehicles, taking the year-to-date total to 172,182 - a 20 per cent increase.

The Outback posted another record month with 8053 sales, a 37 per cent increase compared to August 2009.

The result included sales of 2965 Legacys (Liberty in Australia), 3801 Imprezas and 7234 Foresters.

"August was another great sales month for Subaru," said Tim Colbeck, senior vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc. "Since last August and the CARS program we've ramped up production but demand has continued to outpace supply for our products. Thanks to our strong product line up, we continue to grow and are looking at another record year for the brand."
