Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) reported an 8.7 per cent increase in May sales to 2802 cars, compared to the same month last year.

Year-to-date sales also continued to increase with results up 3.7 per cent.

It was also a record month for all four regions with Subaru Canada's western region experiencing its best month ever with May sales up 7.9 per cent, beating the previous record set in December of 2010.

With 974 cars sold, new Impreza achieved record-breaking May results, up a massive 84.1 per cent. These strong sales also helped Impreza achieve a YTD record with 4303 sold, an increase of 56.2 per cent over 2011.

Forester sales also rose by 7.4 per cent with 772 sold over May last year.

“These results can be attributed to our all-new 2012 Subaru Impreza,” said Shiro Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. “Our inventory is back in line after last year's devastating tsunami and we are able to meet the demand as Canadians are purchasing this fun-to-drive compact car in even greater volume.”

Every Subaru sold in Australia features Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a horizontally-opposed Boxer engine, standard Vehicle Dynamics Control electronic stability program, and a five-star rating for occupant safety from the independent Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). The result - driving confidence.
