Subaru of America, Inc. (SoA) announced a 48 per cent sales increase in April, achieving a record total of 23,198 for the month.

Subaru Outback sales were more than double the previous year, with a 133 per cent increase to 7688, while the Legacy (Liberty in Australia) posted a 50 per cent increase to 3851.

Forester sales were up 28 per cent to 7627 and Impreza up 16 per cent to 3796.

Year-to-date sales increased 41per cent to 80,692.

"The Subaru brand is now consistently achieving new levels of sales, which is a tribute to our strong product line up," said Tim Colbeck, senior vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc.

"We are significantly ahead of last year's record sales pace and expect the momentum to continue."
