More details of Subaru’s Frankfurt double delight

Subaru has teased more details of its major exhibits for display soon at Frankfurt Motor Show, the XV sub-compact Sports Utility Vehicle and the BRZ technology demonstrator.

The production XV has been developed around the concept of “urban adventure.”

The BRZ technology demonstrator features a new Subaru platform and direct injection Boxer engine exclusively designed for the new sports car, which Fuji Heavy Industries says will deliver a “pure handling delight” drive experience.

XV major specification:

Length: 4450 mm

Width: 1780 mm

Height: 1570 mm

Wheelbase: 2635 mm

Engine: New generation 2.0 litre four-cylinder horizontally-opposed Boxer engine mated to a LineartronicTM Continuously Variable Transmission

BRZ technology demonstrator major dimensions:

Length: 4200 mm

Width: 1770 mm

Height: 1270 mm

Wheelbase: 2570 mm

Engine: 2.0 litre four-cylinder direct injection naturally aspirated horizontally-opposed Boxer engine.

The President of Fuji Heavy Industries, Mr Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, will unveil both exhibits on the Subaru stand at 5.30pm AEST on Tuesday 13 September.

The Subaru Global Website will be updated with Frankfurt Motor Show information, including teaser images of the XV and BRZ technology demonstrator, as well as a movie of Subaru's press conference.
