Subaru will unveil the right-hand drive version of its fourth generation Impreza at the Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne on July 1.

Australia is the first country to see right-hand drive All-Wheel Drive Impreza, following the debut of left-hand drive models at New York International Auto Show in April.

Both hatch and sedan models will be displayed.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: “We are honoured that Fuji Heavy Industries has chosen Australia to be the first market outside North America to see new Impreza ‘in the metal.’

“It has had a fantastic reception and we’re really excited about showing it to the Australian public.

“The style, space, economy and technology of this car will take its customer base in Australia to a whole new level.

“Current Impreza is the best-selling version of Subaru’s small car to date and we are confident that this fourth generation will bring even greater success.”

Impreza is one of several surprises that Subaru has planned for the show, with other announcements to follow in the weeks leading up to the opening.

The Australian launch date for new Impreza has yet to be announced.
