Forester S-EDITION wins comparison test

Mon, 11/04/2011

The latest addition to Subaru's best-selling All-Wheel Drive Forester range, the turbocharged S-Edition, has outgunned rivals from MINI and Volkswagen to win a comparison test in the May edition of MOTOR magazine.

Forester S-Edition was tested against the MINI Countryman Cooper S All4 and the VW Tiguan 2.0TFSI.

The MINI and VW tied for second on 6.5 while Forester took the honours with a 7.0 rating out of 10.

Journalist Shaun Cleary wrote: "But look at the spec sheet: it's the most powerful, the fastest, the roomiest, offers the most ground clearance and swallows a bigger boot load. It's these things, along with minor details like the fact it has the tightest turning circle, that compact SUV owners will appreciate. It matches them for fruit like reversing camera, sunroof, sat-nav and cool-looking alloys, yet still manages to provide the best all-round experience for enthusiastic drivers."

Every Subaru sold in Australia features Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a horizontally opposed Boxer engine, standard Vehicle Dynamics Control electronic stability program, and a five-star rating for occupant safety from the independent Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). The result - driving confidence.
