After more than 10 years away, Subaru is back on the Australian rally scene. And we mean business.
We've built an exciting new team, Subaru do Motorsport, and we're hell-bent on extending our record-breaking legacy of championship wins - campaigning a turbocharged Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive WRX STI NR4, turned up and ready to take on the rugged rally terrain.
The rock-solid Molly Taylor is leading the charge, accompanied by one of Australia’s most experienced navigators, Bill Hayes.
Check out our Motorsport page for more information.
Subaru Australia is proud to support a range of triathletes, cyclists, rally drivers, and lifestyle champions. It is our pleasure to share their inspiring stories and achievements.
Driving on snowy grades or icy roads may require the use of tyre chains, in which case they must only be placed on the front wheels of your Subaru.
Use only the correct size chains so as to not damage any of the suspension or the body of the vehicle.
You must also ensure you do not drive more than 30km/h whilst the chains are fitted.
SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. The SRS driver and front passenger airbags are used as supplements to the seat belts to help reduce shocks applied to the head and chest of the driver or front passenger in the event of a frontal impact collision.
The SRS side airbags are used to help reduce the shocks applied to the chest of the driver or front passenger in the event of a side impact collision. The SRS curtain shield airbags are used to help reduce the shocks applied to the head of the driver, front passenger, or rear outer passenger in the event of side or rear side impact collision.

While most engines stand vertically, ours lay flat. The famous Subaru Boxer engine delivers handling like no other engine can. Sitting horizontally in the engine bay, it moves like a boxer’s fists with a punch a counterpunch action. Lightweight, low and flat, it makes for perfect balance and a much lower centre of gravity. It creates less noise and vibration too.
EyeSight® driver assist technology was developed to help keep you much safer on the roads. It’s like your second pair of eyes, spotting potentially dangerous situations like cyclists up ahead.
Only in a Subaru do you have the confidence of the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD) system. Rather than a 2WD or a 4WD, we engineer our vehicles so that the engine power delivers to all four wheels simultaneously.
In case of an accident, we’ve designed a vehicle body that helps protect the passengers and minimises injury. Built to cater for diverse crash conditions, the Ring-Shaped Passenger Safety Cell will absorb and direct the impact of the force around the cabin, rather than through it.
Check out our Safety page for more information.
Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) featuring a range of stability and braking technologies. VDC steps in to help prevent an accident.
The temporary space saver spare tyre is used as a replacement tyre when an emergency occurs, in order to enable the vehicle to be driven to a Subaru Retailer Service Centre.
The main restriction with using the temporary space saver spare tyer is a limit of the maximum speed to 80km/hr, however there is no specific limit on the distance that can be travelled. With this in mind, the space saver spare tyre is only designed for short term use.
It is strongly recommended that the original punctured tyre is repaired as soon as possible.
In the unfortunate event that you lose the key to your Subaru, it is recommended that you contact your nearest Subaru Retailer Parts and Accessories Department to organise a replacement.

Most motor vehicle policies have a standard excess however, experience has shown that most policy holders do not claim unless the damage cost is much higher than the standard excess.
For this reason Subaru Insurance provides you with flexible excess levels. This means you have the option to increase the excess on your policy to save on your premium.
In addition to the standard excess, other excesses may apply to your policy. These are shown in your insurance schedule and must be paid when making a claim unless we state that an excess does not apply.
This is the cost to replace your vehicle with a vehicle of the same make, model, age and condition as your vehicle immediately prior to the loss or damage.
The market value is based upon motor vehicle valuation standards used within the Australian Insurance industry.
For each claim free period of insurance you will accumulate a discount off your motor vehicle insurance premium up to a maximum amount. This maximum amount will vary according to the State or Territory in which your vehicle is garaged/kept.
Any no claim bonus entitlement you hold with another insurance company is transferable. You may be required to provide documentary evidence of your current no claim bonus entitlement.
Check out our Subaru Insurance Packages page for more information.
A Multi Policy Discount (MPD) applies when you purchase either Subaru Loan Protection Insurance or Subaru Motor Equity Insurance at the same time as you purchase a Subaru Motor Comprehensive Insurance Policy.
The discount is applied to the Subaru Motor Comprehensive Insurance Policy and can be up to a discount of 15%. This is in addition to any other discounts that may apply.

In addition, you get a guarantee for the workmanship of the repair for as long as you own the vehicle.
There are some instances where you will not have to pay an excess after lodging a claim. You will not have to pay any excess if:
a. The driver of your vehicle at the time of the accident did not contribute to the cause of the accident; or
b. Your vehicle was damaged while parked, and for both circumstances you provide us with:
(i) The name, address and licence number of each responsible party,
(ii) The registration number of the other vehicle(s) involved in the accident;
c. The claimable loss is recoverable by us.

The New Vehicle Warranty provided with each new Subaru vehicle is transferable from owner to owner.
The warranty is only applicable in Australia and is not transferable to other countries, as no reciprocal world wide warranty is provided.

We often receive queries from Subaru owners who are interested in modifying their vehicles, including changing tyre sizes. Whilst we understand that people wish to personalise their vehicle, we would like to remind everyone out there of a few important areas to consider before fitting any non-standard or non-factory components to their Subaru.
Subaru and their engineers carry out extensive testing to ensure that vehicles will perform reliably and safely under all operating conditions. All of the parts fitted to your Subaru from the factory, and/or genuine Subaru Accessories added, have been tested to ensure they meet Subaru standards. Subaru has tested the components to ensure they are safe and will not interfere with any other systems in your vehicle.
Adding non-genuine components to your vehicle may affect its response to conditions and/or result in damage to other components. Please note that your Subaru's New Car Warranty may be compromised where a fault occurs that is related to, or caused by, a modification.
Therefore, Subaru Australia does not recommend any modifications away from the original factory specifications, the only exception being the fitment of Genuine Subaru Accessories.
Check out our Warranty page for more information.
