Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) has unveiled the exciting new Subaru EXIGA in Japan.
The EXIGA is known as a Versatile Utility Vehicle (VUV) and represents a new vehicle category blending outstanding driving dynamics with multi-seat capacity.
While Subaru Australia is speaking to FHI about the possibility of getting EXIGA, discussions are ongoing and no decision has yet been made, with the vehicle initially aimed only at the Japanese domestic market.
Using the Dynamic Chassis Concept introduced on new generation Impreza and Forester, EXIGA offers excellent visibility thanks to the large glass areas. A large panoramic glass roof is available on some models.
Japanese domestic market variants are powered by either four-cylinder 2.0 litre naturally aspirated or turbocharged horizontally opposed boxer engines.
Access is made easier thanks to rear doors that open 90 degrees, which also enhances third row seat access.
Double wishbone rear suspension minimizes cargo area intrusion.
A newly designed resin fuel tank and body frame have produced a flat floor in the third row, for optimum legroom.
