Tassie sales triumph

Subaru’s new generation Forester and Impreza models were the top two selling vehicles in Tasmania for the month – an unprecedented result for Subaru worldwide.

The result helped lift Subaru to an 11.7 per cent share of the state’s vehicle market in June.

Year to date Subaru’s Tasmanian sales are up 22.4 per cent.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia said: “Tasmania has long been the spiritual home of Subaru.

“To achieve such strong results in an increasingly competitive market is testament to how well suited our vehicles are to, what are commonly referred to, as some of the best driving roads in Australia.”

Dominating the Small Car segment was Impreza with 60 vehicles and a 50.5 per cent increase YTD.

Forester sales of 82 vehicles were up 64 per cent compared to the same month last year - an increase of 13.7 per cent YTD.

When combined with Outback sales of 26, Subaru vehicles accounted for 41.1 per cent of the Compact SUV segment.

There were 37 Libertys sold in June, leading its competition with 36.3 per cent of the Medium Car segment - up a massive 236.4 per cent on June 2007.
